We're free!
Well, now that we've gotten new gmails I can do whatever I want on this blog, it feels good knowing I have a place to give out my thoughts. I'm still in G.T. But we've gotten e-mails from the high school because we use their server. But since I used my own personal e-mail for this blog, they have no power over me or what I say, so we can do what ever we want. Other news, Officially a seventh grader, school started a while back, maybe three weeks? Anyways, click here for my new blog if you want to see my school stuff.

Music Video Finale
(This one's unfinished, but I kept I felt like giving it to you)
My gosh, has it been an amazing school year, that's right, this is the last of the school blog posts until I'm officially a seventh grader at Kapaa Middle School, it seems exciting and I hope it is. Let's hope I remember to write a tally on my 'hype' paper, cause that's how I feel right now. Anyways, I'm getting off track here, for our last project we need to create a music video using several shot types, and pleasing visuals in a fast pace rhythm to showcase all of the skills we have learnt this year. For example, our ability to create photoshop images, or edit in I movie. The song my team chose was the first two minutes of "Stayin' Alive" by the BeeGee's. My team for this project were Gillian and Alex. So, in the story Gillian wants to climb a tree, which Alex and I don't want her to climb, as we don't want her to get hurt, but the song is "Stayin' Alive", so it would relate by saying we want her to well, stay alive.
Right now at this point in time, my favorite 'montage' we have in our video would probably be the part where Gillian is climbing and Alex and I are changing expressions quickly as she climbs. I just really liked the hilarious expressions Alex made when we were filming.
This project is supposed too showcase our skills that we've learnt throughout this year, and it has. We're able to create photoshop intro and blooper (not necessarily blooper) graphics. We can also use our knowledge of different shot types and our knowledge on how to use iMovie. That's how this project allows for all of our knowledge.

Animated Life Lessons
Jhoanna working
We started to use humor by using stupid graphics, like having Jho split her legs in mid air. That isn't what we're supposed to do however, I just thought it was funny. Anyways, we used humor as much as possible while still keeping a serious story. I feel we achieved it, maybe you would disagree. I think we did absolutely fine, but I respect your opinions.
Katy working as well Jhoanna is in the background.
The world always needs more Katy
So my team has never worked together before, and oh baby, was it horrible. We were super extreme struggling with this project for so many reasons. Firstly we took a really long time arguing about noses on the script. It was a real struggle (Insert struggle is real meme). Luckily we were allotted more time to do our project. If not for this, I think we would've failed. Thank the heavens that we got an extension. Anyways, I'm getting off track, the best moment I thought, was when we were all animating, as we were very productive. So hope you enjoyed this post, and I'll see ya' later!Wednesday, April 13, 2016
My Addiction to Games
Hello, welcome back, hope you all had an amazing day. So today I'm talking to you about video games! I enjoy all sorts of games, whether it be a story rich game, or an action shooter, I love games. I personally (not in person) would love to meet up with other gamers online. So feel free to comment, or message me somehow and play some games!

Character Development

The character trait I plan to exaggerate is the helping part. I feel like a way I could do this would be too help the friend I'd have (Whoever it may be) to get super amazing at the skill they're learning but I'd still not be the best. If I can do this that would help alot, so I don't need to rethink. Also one note, the animation isn't so much about the animation quality, but more of the story esc animation, according to mister Sanderl. If I were you, wouldn't expect a dazzling performance and and animation quality, as It's the first time for all of us doing puppet warp animation.
The first thing we had to do in order to create our .GIF was get photos of ourselves on a green screen. then we had to get those photos and put them into photo shop and use the quick selection tool, which allows us to select areas of contrast and quote cut them out. Once we have all that done, we use the puppet warp tool and select points on our bodys to make sure the points we select don't move unless we want them to. Then we just kind of make our figures do what we want to do. We also need to create new layers in photoshop for every movement we make. So, that's this weeks post, and I hope you enjoyed it, so see ya' later!Friday, March 11, 2016
.MOV Film Festival
So, now we are getting into film making and actually are going to put our movie trailer/sitcom/animation depending what you chose into a film festival! So we have some chosen keywords: Differences Rivalry Understanding, and we thought these would connect with our audience well for multiple reasons. First of all we thought differences would connect with our audience well, because every person in the world is different, there is no same person especially with genders (Not in a gross way). Also I forgot to tell you our theme, Well our theme is about these four kids two boys and two girls, One is myself, one is Ashley, Brody, and Mele. Secondly for rivalry tons of people have had rivalries in their life at least once or twice, and that's like our main theme in general. Lastly understanding; there have been tons upon tons of times where I judged something and I didn't really understand it, it's quite a common thing and that's the whole ending about understanding and stuff.

As any good film makers we needed to have change, or learning for our characters, or some sort of implied message, so we do. Our characters have two of these, the boys in the situation experience learning when they get beaten/proven equal to the girls they understand girls can be equals and fair rivals. Also our message is about how no one gender is necessarily stronger than one another in any certain way as most things are. Those were our message, and change for our characters.
It was a bumpy road getting our filming done, and we had a few challenges along the way. One of the biggest challenges we faced was the fact that most of the time, we could hear the AC unit or there would be a generator running. I understand this is inevitable, as we were at a school (The Kapaa elementary) filming this so some buildings still needed power. This could have been easily avoided but we were just kind of lazy and didn't refilm and just chose to mute it. So that was the story of our film making process, hope you enjoyed it, and I'll se you all in the next post!

Tiny Spherical Worlds

WARNING!!!
This entry has more images than ever before
You can create some pretty crazy stuff using composite imagery, but what's the point why not just have one image? Well for starters we wouldn't have nice panoramas with all those photos creating a long scene. For seconds I wouldn't be writing this blog post because we are creating a spherical panorama and polar panorama. Continuing on spherical panoramas would not exist because they require multiple images. Anyway, the world wouldn't have the same famous artists or the same creative minds.

The polar and spherical panoramas are very similar as they are a rotated panoramas. However there are many differences as well, polar panoramas need to turn it 180 degrees in Photoshop as is not the case with spherical panoramas. As well as the fact in spherical panoramas it appears as if the sky is trapped in a tube, in polar panoramas however it looks as if it is a planet in space. Also another thing that is different is the fact that in a polar panorama it matters if there is a tree reaching for the heavens, as you are trying to create a planet in space but with a spherical panorama it's OK if there is a tree reachin' straight in to the center because it's supposed to be more of a tube as seen in the images.

The things that make our little tiny worlds convincing would be the fact that we blend sky colors and making a realistic transition. Also the main thing that ruins a polar panorama is the line that is created and is almost like a barrier and just creates because we do not create 360° panoramas. Also as seen with the portraits they are very surreal, and include shadows. Finally there's just a really nice blend of colors and scenery that's created when doing this it makes it look like a real place or a realistic planet or tunnel. So that's it for today sorry this took an extra week, this was a extremely long project, hope you have an awesome next two weeks, until we meet again.

Hockney Style Joiners

There are tons and tons of images on the internet, good ones, bad one, inspirational and not so inspirational. Lots of them try to send messages through this photography or imaging and the photos send positive or negative messages. Just like the image provided (Which I did not make.) photos can send very positive messages, they can achieve this by literally saying a positive message like "You rock!". But they can be subliminal to have some emotion where all or most people have had in their life. Or in the contrary they can send negative messages. Like photos that show a grey world or a sad person they can all send negative messages. As well just as the positive messages an experience that most have had in their life.

My final photo montage
In my final photomontage or joiner as some call it we are supposed to have it symbolize ourselves or represent us and what i want people to see is probably mainstream. What I want to to see is friendship and tranquility. The reason I believe this represents friendship is well it was a gift from my friend and I probably won't see him for a very very long time because he is going to kamehameha school (probably) and he has been with me since second grade and it was fun. For me it represents tranquility because it always stays still and slowly grows.

2016 Aspirations
. One is to re-beat the champion from pokemon soul silver. I'm sure some of you have heard of this game and I really think that this guy is difficult to beat because he is overpowered as heck, especially the second time when he raises
his pokemon levels. My second goal is to connect with my friends from my old school. Ever since I went to middle school we've been a little distant. Luckily most of them are coming next year. One other thing I want to achieve is to finally ride the zipper (A ride at the kauai county fair) without screaming. It's really terrifying because you twirl around on a post inside a cart that spins forward and backward with no warning. Also I want to learn more about my ancestors, you know? I mean I might have some really interesting heritage and not even know it! My second-to-final goal for this year is to learn more about gamma rays. They are really interesting and beutiful and they are caused when black hole dies. If you haven't seen one I suggest looking at a video online. My final goal is to learn how to do a cartwheel. those are my goals for this year and next paragraph I talk about my most important goal and why.
The most important goal for me is probably to connect more with my friends. That is because well the more friends you have the more there is in life to enjoy. Plus I fear losing my best friends Kaiea and Isaiah. If not for them I probably wouldn't be where I am as a person now with this blog and me writing about them here. Especially Isaiah it was like an ongoing competition between us to be the smartest we could be. What I am trying to say is basically my friends affected me a lot in good ways and I wish to give back to them for all of their inspiration.
The first thing I would probably do to ensure I can connect more with my friends would probably be to call hem more often. I often call them like once every two months which I plan to change and call them every two weeks or so. My second step would be to invite them over or have sleepovers with them because we don't do that to often we often have conflicting schedules. When we do get together however we have ton's of fun we play on computers or we battle each other on tons of different pokemon games. Sleepovers at the end we sometimes get bored but that doesn't really matter. My final step would probably to online game with them on computers or mobile devices. That is one key thing in our friendship is playing together.
Anyways thank you all for reading, also recently we have made it to six different countrys that have read from my blog! Hope you like the photos these are just my favorites and tell me your ambitions for 2016.

Scratch Game Design
Scratch Games
Use arrow keys to move in chase. Use arrow keys to move in platformer and spacebar to jump. In freedom use f and j to fight the slime h to heal and use r and u to attack the ghoul.
In scratch I made the game above. It was made in scratch, and was pretty difficult. The user experience was a very important factor in making this game. One of my friends said it would be cool if the dragon changed when it touched your character. And also a few people said the movement was very cluncky and I agreed so i changed the movement to slide to make it smoother. Also since we were trying not to make it losable but I was unable so you can lose. Many things affected the game based on the experience of players.

There are several features in my game that my game has. Such as a gravity engine in my platformer or costume changes in my platformer. In my chase game there is no gravity however there is in my platformer. In my chase game there is no levels unlike my platformer game. The platformer game is more complex than my chase for the chase game has a much simpler code. I honestly prefer the platformer over the chase comment down below your favorite game.
One of my most difficult bug fixes was probably recreating my gravity engine after I accidentally deleted the gravity engine. Also I had to try to figure out a fair time for the game. The code on the right looks semi-simple but this was just the timer code, I had to do some crazy stuff guys. One other bug that took me a while to fix was that when I tried to use the paint bucket tool for the flag it would paint the entire screen. This stumped me for several hours and I was so confused but I had a hole in my sprite so I had to re-draw the flag. So yeah this is the last school post for a while because winter break is coming and also last Thursday was my birthday and I turned eleven, So i will be posting minor updates but see you guys at the next post!

Invention Commercial
P3T8_Invention from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

In gt we made a commercial for a product that we made. Our goals were to target our product to our audience (Our class) so they would buy our product. We wanted our device known as the Multi-Read to help with everyday reading issues. It has a light to use in dark areas. It also can be used as a pointer. You as well as being used as a bookmark so you don't lose your spot. So comment if you would buy our product that Tyler, Elijah, and myself built.
Tyler, Elijah and I all played a part in creating our invention, the Multi-read. Tyler was the camera man mainly because he said that he was a quiet speaker and doesn't like to act. Elijah was a part actor and a editor just like I was. We all had our own part to play and we all had a fun time doing it. Generally, we got an awesome grade! We got an A on our project and we didn't think we were going to get a good grade so it was very satisfactory.

Cracking the Code
You know alot of you guys reading this can guess from the title that my class is learning about code. So I honestly think that everyone should code, it's a great life skill. One of the reasons I think everyone should learn to code is that it can lead to some amazing things from just kinda messing around with a computer. It's crazy all of the things possible with code!
My first experience with code wasn't with Mr. Sanderl as many of you may think, it was actually at my school in elementary with Mrs. Chung. When we did our code we got one hour per week and it was difficult for me, but as time progressed I was getting better thus it became easier. In Mr. Sanderl's class since I had already done that before it was a breeze. After we learnt the basic code we learnt the more complex code such as using a little code to make a mini-game. IT was a fun time and I think you should try.
I have been planning to talk with you guys about this for so long but now I finally get to talk about it for GT!! I have to talk about a game that I would code/design! So I would make a game that is heavily storyline and uses lots of the adventure aspect. I would call this game "Sky Quarry". It is a game where you find floating islands and mine them in your airship. Also there is an enemy city (Pirates) that want to take your city and it's riches. So that is the basic concept hope you enjoy see you guys later bye!!!

Composition Scavenger Hunt

In class we did a composition technique scavenger hunt with teams and are supposed to chose what we think the most important one is in this intro paragraph, So here we go! I think the most important composition technique is eye level. This is because in this it is good to use for when the subject is speaking or making a profound emotion. Also people in our class mostly understood what eye level was. So this means that it is common and effective, thus making it extremely useful. So that is why I think eye level is the best composition technique.
I think the hardest composition technique was low angle. This is because when we were filming my head wasn't showing and it was shaky from the awkward angle. Also our ants eye was so similar that it was hard to deviate. It was also difficult because I don't think you would find it comfortable to use often. So that is what I thought was the hardest composition technique.
My favorite Technique
My team includes Tyler Tanaka and Elijah O'Day. Tyler is mainly a silent person and was doing the filming and transitions. Elijah is a more talkative person and was acting as well as making a cuts in the editing. Tyler is slightly shorter than me and fun to have as a friend. Elijah is slightly taller and is also a great friend and is my friend. So that was my team, and I hope you enjoyed this post, bye!Tuesday, October 20, 2015

For People Who Have a Google Plus Acount
For everyone who has a google plus account, I have a message! If you have one you can look at google plus and you can get some messages when I post. So yeah have a nice day and read my humorous monologue!!!
My Humorous Monologue
KooN_Comedy from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.
For our comedic monologue project (Yes this is the same one as in the last post.) my class has learnt alot. One of the things we learnt were how to edit in I-movie as we needed to have our B-roll over the image of our monologue. We also learnt about making B-roll and that the clips need to be silent as we don't want our voices to be cut off. We also needed pad, pad is what sating rolling and action is called, this is necessary because again we don't want our voices to be cut off. Lastly we learnt how to edit in I- movie! So those are some of the things we learnt.
Pad is a very simple concept. All you need to do to have pad is at the beginning say rolling, count to three and say action. At the end of your clip you want to count to three and then end the clip. You may be wondering, why would you need this? Well it is so your monologue does not get cut off. Pad is an important part in all film making and is very helpful.
I was kind of weak in some areas but I was strong in some areas. Some of the areas I was weak in were the timing, as I didn't fit into the timeframe. Another thing was adding effects as I couldn't because it would make my clips to short. Some areas I was strong in were getting the clips to be perfectly together with the monologue. Another thing was that I had clear audio. One way I could improve was to make myself speak slower because my audio was to short.
So I am trying to be as active as possible guys but it's hard I get really busy with school and music and boy scouts and other things so please don't hate I am trying to be as active as possible.
My score for the project based off of students.

Comedy Writing
As you can probably tell by the title of this post that I am writing a joke and for the intro I need to explain why a sense of humor is a important character trait so here we go! One of the main reasons a sense of humor is an important character trait is it can make things more tolerable for yourself and others. Another reason is that it can relieve stress or tension. The fourth thing is that it can get you through your own hard times or other peoples hard time. Thus if you want to have a good day, have a good laugh.
Some of the things you can do to help yourself to wright a humorous joke are use facial expressions for different reactions from yourself can lead to different reactions from the audience. Another thing that will influence laughter are to make sure that your joke fits the audience's understanding such as the fact a joke about Justin Bieber or Taylor Swift wouldn't fit for a group of elderly persons. Also you may want to just simply revise it a few times, make sure the grammar is correct and possibly edit it slightly. One other little tip would be to test it with family and friends to see if they like it and if they do, try and tell other people about it. One last thing you can do (I'm not saying these are the only things to do just Mr. Sanderl wants us to give five tips) is to just try and stay cool getting stressed can cause the audience to get tense and then they tend not to laugh. So yeah those were five tips for wrighting a joke and making the audience laugh.
So for my comedic monologue I chose to write about a fish at a therapist. So here is my joke and just in case you don't get I am going to explain why the joke is funny at the end, HERE WE GO! So I looked in the newspaper and there is a fish at a therapist and the therapist says "So, how long have you felt like a fish out of water?" The fish dies but the therapist doesn't know and then therapist says " Look I know how you're feeling and its okay to be shy but I'm here to help, so take your time. Five minutes later after constant talking the therapist says "Just answer the question you silly fish!!!! ARGH!!! After that he hits the fish and goes to jail. So that was my joke hoped you liked see you in the next post!!!!

Motivational Poster
My GT project we had to make a motivational poster, here where some of the requirements. I needed to have to text layers, one of my manifesto and another of my personal quotes they were not allowed to have any holes or spaces on the document. One other thing I needed were 4 image layers one of myself, and three symbolic images that represent me. I needed a triadic color scheme and visual balance for the text. One last thing I needed was to Kern my text to fit the document.
What I had to do in order to make this poster was first take my symbolic images were taken by yours truly, and open them with Photoshop. Then I moved them from their separate tabs and put them into one piece. After that I wrote my personal quotes and manifesto in my google docs for the spell check and copied and paced it into my Photoshop document to. The next thing I had to do was choose a color from a color making website with triadic color, I took the ID's of those colors and pasted it to my text. Also forgot to mention this after the text part but I had to kern the text and resize the imaging to fit.
The hardest part of making this poster was probably the kerning. I had to though, it wasn't fun I couldn't leave any holes and I had to try to make it fit on one page and make the perfect color scheme which it didn't wanna do so yeah. I think I can improve on this though by practicing, that's how everyone improve. Lucky for me I know of a website to let yourself kern! I will need to do more kerning throughout the school year so it probably is a good idea to practice kerning.
